P. & L. are pursued thro' the streets by an ineffable multitude of rabid mendicants.

Near Sciacca: May 20, 1847
P. & L. discern the coast of Africa, & witness a combat between two
individuals whom they are led to believe are Marshal Bugeaud & Abdel Kadir.
